Technology

Thermolon™ is a patented mineral polymer based on ceramic materials. In contrast traditional non-stick is based on fluoropolymer resins. PTFE-based non-stick coatings use PFOA in the manufacturing process. Despite some marketing attempts of some creative minds, there is no non-stick that is as clear in their statements as Thermolon™: it contains no PTFE and there is no PFOA involved in any step of its production process.

In February 2006, EPA's Science Advisory Board voted to approve a recommendation that PFOA should be considered a 'likely' carcinogen. Industry insiders will know that the word 'likely' was added in a second stage.

Thermolon™ is corrosion resistant, scratch resistant, abrasion resistant and Dishwasher-safe.

Thermolon™ non-stick cannot be overheated during normal use. The coating can withstand 850°F / 450°C without any problem (170% higher than for traditional PTFE-based coatings).

Thermolon™ uses half the energy in its application and therefore creates only half the CO2 emissions of a PTFE-based coating.
